Why did Jack fall down?
Because there was a dragon blowing bubbles in the well!
But Puff is friendly, and a smoke-free zone as he can’t breathe fire - so how can Jack and Jill and their mum, with Prince Adrian and millionairess Lucy-Anna, Apple Auntie the Fairy Godmother, save him from Saint George?
And can Puff save them from wicked Uncle Jasper and his Blunderbuss?

Princess Ludmila is stolen by Chernomor, an evil wizard, with Nanny Natasha, who trains the SAS, as a stowaway.
Can the great heroes Russian and Farlaf find and rescue her - and which of them will she choose to marry?
A Russian folk tale, not a traditional panto; beautiful in ‘The Snow Queen’ style, filled with comedy and tension, gods [well, one god] and ghosts, heroism and treachery, magic and monsters - and a rescued maiden who is flamin’ furious at having her sacrifice ruined, and decides to go ‘eroin’ with the heroes.

When Princess Felicity kisses the Toad Prince, his warts certainly move - onto the princess!
And she can only lose them by kissing someone of exactly equal moral worth; not easy to find.
She really wants to become a witch, not a queen; so can she do magic, with - or in spite of - the help of her three desperate spinster aunts and an unreliable magic mirror, to get rid of the warts - and the three very undesirable suitors who are promised her hand in return for a cure?
(There’s a dragon in this one too. I like dragons.)

Jampanese; nearly Japanese, but not quite; kimonos and fans, samurais and swords, minstrels and magic.
Jingli, a poetic fisherman, hooks the Silver Dragon. In exchange for poems, she grants him three wishes.
Jingli’s greedy, snobbish wife, Yon Yin, is egged on by two con artists, Ra Ba Jin and Fa Ted, until she expands her demands till she wants to be Empress of the Universe.
(There’s a dragon in this one too. I like dragons.)

You’ll need a copy of ‘I want to be free!’ for this princess who doesn’t need a husband, and makes the prince who loves her promise he’ll never ever ask her to marry him. In boy’s clothes she sets out to wreck the traditional contest for her hand, via a mermaid grotto (with a sea serpent; I wanted a dragon but the insurance was too high), Big Daddy marketplace, and the North Pole.

At last - a traditional panto, with lots of songs to Christmas carol tunes!
Well, it’s nearly traditional; it has Widow Twanky, Abanazar, Wishee-Washee - but also a trendy Aladdin, a defiant Princess, policemen Bobby and Clyde, and a couple of unionised genies.
And no, not a dragon; a camel.

Another traditional one, with a very practical - and sexy - French girl-friend for Valentine, the Puss, an evil lawyer, a shape-changing ogre, a handsome hero and his two evil brothers, a scatty fairy, and a princess who doesn’t like quiche - or commoners...
The Dame in this panto is Queen Lily the Pink, with her court, Lord Wally and Lady Hypochondria.
And there’s lots of work and lines for chorus members.
